Greatness

They say that he who is humblest is greatest of them all,

Like the little gentle children who have faith but often fall;

It comes from being human not trying to find fault,

To some its best left alone something to not alt.

.

Greatness is to say I know and that I really care,

It's humility and believing that God is really there;

I've seen it when it's mighty but doesn't show within,

For without a little kindness it's really quite a sin.

.

Some seek and ask for pleasure and the greatness it will bring,

Other's think it's money that is really the very greatest thing;

And some will look through books inside out hoping that they'll find,

A little bit of knowledge that will give them the greatest mind.

.

But greatness is the knowing of the love and grace of God.

And greatness is finding beauty in something most see odd;

No greatness is not what people will think and say or speak,

But greatness is found in meekness when your hurt or have been weak.

.

I think I'd like to say right now that greatness is not that great,

But something doesn't let me but it says I must relate;

Greatness can't be bought or taught but must be earned to be deserved,

For greatness comes to those who believe that others must be served.

.

Well there comes a time for everyone to have a little greatness,

For some it's soon and other's late but it comes I must confess;

It comes to those who'll wait and listen or who'll fix another's mess,

And so now this rhyme has had it's time and I need a new thing to address.

.

Signed,

Leave it to God.
