Independence

I'm an independent person, I'm as happy as can be,

I love to do things individually on my own and be free;

I think there’s a lot to contribute to in this world of endless pain,

That you and I can win and through the work of things we gain.

It's important in this world to see where you really fit,

To understand what life is about and partake and enjoy it;

To find that niche in life where you can learn to teach and give,

That through the knowledge and experience you know how to life.

Independence is a thing in life that leads to being rich,

When you have found out what to do, and get out of the ditch;

It means you have progressed enough to stand on your own two feet,

That you have found you're way in life and decided to deceive the receipt.

I mean I really think there’s a catch to keeping to yourself,

When you think you can beat the rest, there is one that beats myself;

So admitting first or second place in life, might mean you come third,

For when you independently address yourself, you find a better word.

Now independence is having enough for personal security in life,

That you are really nearly old enough to ask and take forth a wife;

You see being independent is not really the best thing on your own,

For when you really love someone you give up the independence to owe.

For sharing one’s life with another is means having money in the bank,

And independence is characteristic of that and it is had in who thank;

For the memory stays with you always of how you loved independently,

That the victory is in marriage where independence lives eternally.
